What Is The Don

The Don’t Pass area is called the “back line” (opposite of the Pass Line, which is called the “front line”). The minimum and maximum Don’t Pass Flat bets are the same as those for the Flat Pass Line as defined on the placard located on the inside wall of the table. Don't Pass Line Bet The don't pass bet is another one of the most popular bets in craps. Players who wager on this bet are known as 'wrong' players since they are usually betting against the shooter who is a 'right' player. You are hoping the shooter doesn't pass their dice on the pass line.

The Don’t-pass line bet is also known as the back-line bet and it the exact opposite of the pass-line bet. When betting on the Don’t-Pass line you are betting for the house to win and the players who bet the pass-line bet to lose. If you bet the Don’t-pass line you are referred to as a “wrong way bettor”. It’s not immoral or against the craps rules to bet the don’t-pass line but since you are going to win while the other players are losing it’s a good idea to keep a low profile at the tables if you are playing craps in a real casino. If you are playing online craps for real money you won’t have this problem as there are no other players at the table who will pay any notice of what you are betting.

What Is The Don T Pass Line In Craps

Don

Ive been in AC over the years where there was only 2, 3 players, none making pass or don't pass bets, the dealers would hold the dice until someone put up a line bet to roll the dice. #5 Liman, Nov 20, 2016. The craps table is divided into side sections, managed by dealers, and a center section, manned by the stickman. The side sections contain areas for each type of bet, including Pass Line, Don’t Pass Line, Come, Don’t Come, Field, and Big-6/Big-8 wagers. Players can lay chips down in the appropriate section to indicate the nature of their bet.

The don’t-pass line bet is one of the best bets at the craps table as it has a house edge of only 1.36% compared to the 1.41% of the pass-line bet.

How the don’t-pass line bet works

  • If the come out roll is a 2 or a 3 you will win even money on your bet.
  • If the come out bet is a 7 or 11 you will lose your bet.
  • After the point is decided you will need to roll a 7 before the point to win even money.

How to play the don’t-pass line bet

The only time you can place a bet on the don’t-pass line is before the come-out roll. Once the point has been established by the come-out roll you will only be able to win if a seven is rolled before the point.

When betting the don’t-pass line you are looking for the exact opposite outcome of the pass-line bettors. When playing at a real live casino the don’t-pass line bettors are usually the minority even though you have a bigger edge making this bet compared to the pass-line bet. The reason why people prefer the pass-line bet to the don’t-pass line bet is that they like the community spirit at the craps tables, they want to be able to share the joy of winning with the other people of the table. If you are indifferent to sharing the joy of winning with the other players at the table you are better off playing the don’t-pass line.

The Magic Number 12

When playing the pass-line bet at the craps tables the number 12 means you lose your bet, ut even though the don’t-pass line is the opposite of the pass-line bet it doesn’t mean you win when the 12 appears on the come-out roll, instead your bet will be considered a tie when the 12 is rolled. You will however win if a 2 or 3 is rolled on the come-out roll as the pass-line will crap out on that roll. The reason why the 12 is a tie for the don’t-pass line bettors is the house advantage. If the casino would pay out even money for don’t-pass line bettors for a 12 on the come-out roll you would have the same chance of winning as the casino, and that’s a bad way to run a casino business.
